Check Out
Your library privileges are for you alone and library materials can only be checked out by you with a valid photo ID, student ID, or library card. Users may designate another person(s) as their proxy, who may check out library materials in their name. Any fines or lost items are the sole responsibility of the person who requests the proxy, and not the designated proxy. Contact the front desk for more information.
Course Readings
- Digital and physical materials can be made available to students through Course Readings in Canvas
- Instructors can place materials “on reserve” for their students at the Front Desk
- Check out times vary from 2 hours to 7 days
Fines
- You are responsible for all items checked out on your library card
- We do not charge overdue or late fines. However, severely overdue items may result in loss of borrowing privileges and block access to registering and accessing your transcripts
- We charge lost fees if items are lost or damaged beyond repair. Lost fees are the cost of the item up to $100. We do not accept replacement copies
Gadgets to Go
- Gadgets to Go is a technology lending collection for current Mines students/staff/faculty
- Returns must be returned in person to the library front desk
- Check for all parts at check out and before returning. Users will be charged for any lost or damaged items
Requests
- All checked out material can be requested by a Mines’ student or faculty/staff member
- A Hold request will give you a full loan period but no renewals
- A Recall request may shorten your loan period to 21 days. You will be notified by email of the
new due date
Returns
- Material can be returned to the Front desk during open hours or dropped in the Book Drop by
the Front Doors - Books may also be returned through the Courier system at participating libraries. Your book will
not be checked in until it reaches this library so allow time for delivery - You are responsible for any loss during transit
