The Institutional Repository (IR) is a stable platform for sharing Mines’ work. The IR fosters research, learning, and discovery by sharing Mines’ scholarly, educational, and creative content with the world.

What can be submitted?
Works created by or in collaboration with Mines faculty, staff, and students can go in the IR. This includes works from academic and administrative departments and other organizational units. Please use the instructions in our submission guide to submit items. Content falls under these broad categories:
- Research and scholarly outputs. Examples—journal articles, data sets, conference proceedings, posters
- Educational and informational works. Examples—textbooks, newsletters
- Unique works of the university and its departments. Examples—manuscripts, photographs, books
- Creative and recreational works from Mines programs. Examples—recordings of performances, artwork, photographs, media
Who can access content?
The IR is openly accessible to the Mines community and the public. For any copyright interest the contributor may possess in the content submitted to the IR, they grant the university the non-exclusive, perpetual and royalty-free rights to reproduce, retain, modify and distribute the material via the Internet. To put it simply, copyright owners retain copyright and they give Mines permission to share the work. Items can be embargoed in certain cases, which means Mines will wait 6 months or a year to share the item online.
